The son of a military officer, I was fortunate to live several places around the world before settling in North Carolina and obtaining a BS in Computer Science from NC State University and a master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
Once I retired, I moved to Southern Pines to build my forever home. I am in the process of collaborating with an architect and plan to begin building my home in the Spring of this year. I am the proud father of three adult children, and they collectively have three children, of whom I am equally proud.
After a brief military career of my own, I founded and operated a small computer company, then was recruited by IBM, where I served for 35 years in various technical, management, and middle management positions. I will leverage my people and project management experience to help the POA Board create an environment which supports both you and our community.
I am eager to help preserve the unique character and aesthetics of the Mid South Club. While it is important for us to honor the community standards we all agreed to when we purchased property in the Mid South Club, it is equally important to temper the letter of the law with sensible judgment. I will always welcome your opinions and ideas even when they differ from mine. And hopefully together we will find common ground which benefits our entire community.
The Mid South Club is a beautiful community, and I look forward to living the rest of my life here and helping preserve its beauty and inviting atmosphere.

My wife, Robin and I moved from Dallas, Texas to Mid South in June, 2023, following my retirement from 40+ years in the legal profession (both in private practice and in-house), culminating with 17 years spent in the Legal Department of a financial institution headquartered in Pittsburgh. We are fiercely proud Wahoos, as we both graduated from the University of Virginia, where I met Robin. Moving into the heart of Tobacco Road has been a thrill for me as a lifelong hoops junkie.
We love to travel, read, experiment with new recipes, learn about wines, and work diligently on our struggling golf games. I have recently joined the choir at Emmanuel Episcopal Church after a long sabbatical from choral music. Robin is already active in the WGA and a member of the Mid South Landscaping Committee. I have begun to participate in the Men’s Recreational golf group. We have three children living in Cincinnati, Dallas, and Houston, who collectively have blessed us with 5 grandchildren.
Since moving to Mid South Club, I have learned from other residents, including former POA Board members, that the community has had to weather a number of challenges during the last few years. There are still challenges for the community that lie ahead; therefore, I decided to join the Mid South POA Board.
I believe my background and experience as a practicing attorney are particularly suited to help the POA navigate what lies ahead. I have always adopted a pragmatic approach whenever met with challenges and consider myself to be a good listener and a creative thinker, all of which would help the Board facilitate fair and reasonable solutions benefiting the POA and the community as a whole. Mid-South is a beautiful place to live, and I would embrace the opportunity to pay it forward as a member of the Board.

A proud North Carolina native, I earned my Bachelor of Science in business and economics from Elon University and began my professional journey as a mortgage lender in the banking industry. Following the 2009 recession, I chose to return to the family business. Today, I am a licensed General Contractor and the owner and operator of a contracting company that recently celebrated 22 years of successful operation. Our company specializes in servicing military housing and large-scale residential renovations.
My wife, Meghan, and I have two daughters. In August 2023, we relocated to Mid-South and quickly found a sense of belonging within the community. Our family enjoys staying active through youth sports, offshore fishing, traveling to North Carolina’s mountains and beaches, as well as reading and spending quality time with friends and family.
I am committed to supporting and participating in local organizations, including Young Life of the Sandhills and Episcopal Day School. Faith plays a central role in my life; I participate in a local men’s small group and am an active member of Rise Up Kings, a Christian-based business leadership group based in Dallas, Texas. This organization emphasizes the four foundational pillars of Faith, Family, Fitness, and Finances. I strongly believe that a vibrant and supportive community is essential for success, both personally and collectively.
Our family loves living in this neighborhood, and I am eager to give back by joining the Mid-South POA Board. I am confident that my experience, values, and commitment to community will make a positive impact.

Secretary
My wife Tereece and I are native Southern Californians and have been Moore County residents since July 2007and Mid-South residents for eighteen months. We have two children and six grandchildren, a son in Beverly Farms, MA and a daughter living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC. Tereece is a retired Dental Hygienist and practiced for 20 years.
I am a retired police sergeant with thirty years’ experience, retiring in 2003. I had assignments in many different divisions of police agencies including: patrol, detectives, press information officer, crime scene investigation, SWAT , community relations officer, narcotics investigation and field training officer. I retired as a Detective sergeant overseeing the crimes against persons unit- better known as the Robbery- Homicide section.
After retiring, I was hired as the Director of Security and Emergency Management for the Orange County Transportation Authority- Orange County, CA. This is the bus and commuter rail provider for a county with over four million residents. After three years, I was hired by Willdan Homeland Solutions as a consultant in emergency management, terrorism awareness and police agency re-organization analysis.
I possess a Master of Public Administration from California State University Long Beach, California. Tereece and I have been members of Christ Community Church for eighteen years and I have served on the Elder Board for ten of those years. I had been serving on the Mid South Safety and Security sub committee and was humbled to be asked to fill the current interim position on the POA Board. I am a
conscientious member of any board or committee I serve on and strive to be honest and transparent in all opinions and communications. I am always diplomatic and respectful but not shy when commenting on an issue or taking a position for change or improvement. After a vote on an issue is taken and decided, I will support the will of the Board majority. A robust debate on an issue usually results in the most productive outcome. I feel strongly that disagreement is not disloyalty!

Brent Wadas
Special Projects
Although born and raised out West, Brent Wadas and his family have proudly made Mid South Club in Southern Pines their home. After a career spanning military service as a U.S. Army officer with Special Operations units, leadership in investment, and founding innovative businesses like BotBuilt, Brent’s heart is now firmly rooted in Mid South.
Brent is looking forward to finding ways to give back to Mid South. Being on the board is an excellent opportunity to serve the neighborhood, preserve the strong sense of community, and take on some of the tedious projects associated with improving an already outstanding area. Decades of experience in building companies and leading soldiers is now able to be put to good use in preserving the value of life in the Mid South Club.
He and his wife, Christy, along with their daughters, are here to work with neighbors to build a lasting legacy—a community where friends support one another and future generations can thrive. Brent is passionate about preserving the beauty, safety, and spirit of Mid South Club, ensuring it remains not just a place to live, but a place families are proud to call home for years to come.
